Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second most prevalent active ingredient of cannabis (marijuana). CBD is the most essential component of medical marijuana, derived directly from the hemp plant. CBD is one of hundreds of components found in marijuana. It DOES NOT cause a 'high'

According to a report from the World Health Organization 'CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential and to date, there is absolutely no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD'

In full spectrum CBD oil, there are more than 100 cannabinoids including cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). These are the two main compounds that cause therapeutic and psychoactive effects, with CBD being therapeutic and THC being psychoactive. Additionally there are more than 150 terpenes found in cannabis which affect the plants fragrance. These can also have therapeutic benefits (think how lavender has calming effects). Cannabis further includes about 20 different flavonoids which are found in all kinds of plants, including fruits, vegetables and more. Like terpenes, they also have therapeutic effects. Studies have shown that the flavonoids found in cannabis have anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and neuroprotective properties.

Our full-spectrum CBD oil includes small amounts of ALL of these compounds, including THC. (Please note that THC is at a level low enough to have no psychoactive effects, but may cause a slight calming effect in people sensitive to THC. At 0.007% it is well below the legal limit).

Why chose Regenerative Nutrition CBD Oil

We have been supplying natural health products to the world for almost 30 years now. We have a reputation for some of the worlds finest and best priced supplements. Our CBD Oil is no exception, it is very fairly priced with no compromise to quality. Feel free to check what most brands are selling for.

Furthermore, as with many of our supplements and our approach to well-being in general, we favour full-spectrum ingredients rather than isolates of just one part of a natural remedy. Undoubtedly, studies suggest isolated CBD can be beneficial on its own, but research strongly suggests that the therapeutic effect of CBD is stronger when combined with other natural cannabis compounds including the terpenes, flavonoids and lesser-known cannabinoids referred to previously. This is known as the entourage effect

Our full-spectrum CBD includes ALL of the other compounds, including trace levels of THC found only in such full-spectrum products. This may improve the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving benefits of CBD oil without any psychoactive effects at all.

It is extracted using a cold CO2 method designed to preserve all of the active ingredients. It is then combined with a carrier oil - we use 100% organic cold pressed hemp seed oil to further improve the health benefits. Many CBD oil isolates use other oils such as coconut, sunflower and avocado (amongst others) as a carrier.

Hemp seed oil is the best carrier oil due to the wealth of health benefits that it offers as a stand-alone dietary supplement (that's aside from the added CBD and other compounds). Using this oil adds further to the 'entourage effect' giving a full, well rounded cannabis derived product suitable for many more uses than CBD isolate oils.

Hemp oil is super-rich in omegas (otherwise known as good fats) and has 25 times more omegas than olive oil. It also has absolutely no trans fats and 40% less saturated fats than olive oil. Hemp seed oil contains high concentrations of polyunsaturated fatty acid and is a good dietary source of essential fatty acids, linoleic and linolenic acids, desirable omega-6 & omega-3 fatty acids in the desirable ratio of  3:1

There are so many health conditions scientifically proven to be improved by the use of CBD, and many more that are partially proven, but still require further research and then a whole spectrum of anecdotal uses established. CBD has been a large focus for research due to changes in laws around the world, and for its role in potentially treating a vast number of health issues.

Though more studies are needed to be certain in some applications, so many are now well established.

‘It seems like basically, if you’ve got it, CBD will probably help with it in some way or another’

Here is a good website, one of many, that reports on what it’s proven beneficial for, and to what degree.

Following is just a small selection of the wealth of data available about CBD to anyone who can type CBD into a search engine...

Anxiety and depression – CBD oil has shown good promise for the treatment of both depression and anxiety, which is leading many who suffer with these disorders to become interested in this natural approach. Often depression and anxiety are treated with pharmaceutical drugs, which can cause a number of side effects including drowsiness, agitation, insomnia, sexual dysfunction and headaches. Additionally some medications such as benzodiazepines can be addictive and potentially lead to some form of substance abuse. A 2019 study conducted in Brazil tested the effectiveness of CBD in patents suffering with anxiety. The results found that a 300 mg dose of CBD was the most effective at significantly reducing anxiety during the public speaking test. CBD oil has even been used to safely treat insomnia and anxiety in children with post-traumatic stress disorder. Additionally researchers have suggested that the stress and anxiety reducing properties of CBD are also responsible for its ability to help lower blood pressure

Pain and inflammation – The human body contains a specialized system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays a role in regulating a variety of functions including sleep, appetite, pain and immune system response. The body produces endocannabinoids (neurotransmitters) that bind to cannabinoid receptors in the nervous system. A 2018 Study showed that CBD can reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters.

Cancer symptoms – CBD may help with symptoms related to cancer and cancer treatments. Though there are drugs that help with these distressing symptoms, they are sometimes ineffective, leading some people to seek alternatives. One study looked to identify the effects of CBD and THC in people with cancer-related pain who did not experience relief from pain medication. Those treated with an extract containing both compounds experienced a significant reduction in pain compared to those who received only THC extracts. One of the major issues with Chemotherapy is nausea and vomiting and the effect that has on quality of life. CBD may also help reduce chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, which are among the most common chemotherapy-related side effects for those with cancer.

Neuro-protection - Researchers believe that CBD’s ability to act on the endocannabinoid system and other brain signaling systems may provide benefits for patients with neurological disorders. One of the most studied uses for CBD is in treating neurological disorders like epilepsy and multiple sclerosis. Though research in this area is still relatively new, several studies have shown very promising results and many people who have used CBD for epilepsy have seen great improvements based on their testimonies. Additionally CBD has also been researched for its potential effectiveness in treating several other neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease with some promising results.

Acne - Based on recent scientific studies, CBD oil may help treat acne due to its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to reduce sebum production. One test-tube study found that CBD oil prevented sebaceous gland cells from secreting excessive sebum, exerted anti-inflammatory actions and prevented the activation of "pro-acne” agents like inflammatory cytokines.

Antipsychotic effects - Studies suggest that CBD may be beneficial for people with schizophrenia and other mental disorders by reducing psychotic symptoms.

Substance abuse – Research suggests that CBD has the ability to modify circuits in the brain related to drug addiction. CBD has been shown to reduce morphine dependence and heroin-seeking behaviors in rats.

Anti-tumor effects - In both test-tube and animal studies, CBD has demonstrated anti-tumor effects. In animals, it has been shown to prevent the spread of breast, prostate, brain, colon and lung cancer but more research needs to be done to guarantee the benefits carries over to humans.

Diabetes prevention - In diabetic mice, treatment with CBD reduced the incidence of diabetes by 56% and significantly reduced inflammation. Again more researched needs to be conducted to ensure these benefits carries over to humans.

Effects on major body systems

Apart from specific health conditions as listed above, CBD has proven benefits for almost every body system, such as Cardiovascular, Digestive and endocrinal systems and many others as briefly detailed below

Cardiovascular system - CBD’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties may be able to reduce risk factors that can lead to heart disease, like high blood pressure. It may also be able to reduce the risk of related conditions, like stroke.

Digestive system - CBD is also great for digestive health because its cortisol lowering benefits help to prevent leaky gut or intestinal permeability. Cortisol is a catabolic hormone. Excessive cortisol can break down tissues in the body, and have a destructive effect on the one cell thick lining of our GI tract.

Endocrine system - The endocannabinoid system can be stimulated by the use of CBD. As such, CBD could be used to influence major hormones including insulin, cortisol and melatonin, so is increasingly being cited as a natural treatment option for hormone problems.

Immune-System - CBD and other properties of cannabis have anti-inflammatory properties, acting as an immuno-suppressant and an immuno-modulator. This basically mean that CBD suppresses the functions of your body's immune system and keeps it active when underperforming or lowers activity when over-performing.

Lymphatic System - Studies show that CBD can improve the lymphatic system, a very important mechanism in our bodies. The lymphatic system is considered your body's drainage system and is vital for good health, especially when dealing with chronic illnesses.

Muscular System – CBD allows for deeper REM sleep which is when cortisol levels are at their lowest. This is essential for protein synthesis, which occurs when the body is building muscle tissue. In this way, CBD indirectly impacts the building of muscle. Additionally the anti-inflammatory properties are able to reduce symptoms of pain in muscles and connective tissues after exercise, or otherwise.

Nervous system - Researchers believe that CBD's ability to act on the endocannabinoid system and other brain signaling systems may provide benefits for those with neurological disorders. In fact, one of the most studied uses of CBD is in treating neurological disorders like epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.

Respiratory system -  CBD can help open up bronchial passages, and this could help COPD patients breathe more easily and avoid low blood oxygen levels and other complications. Further, a study of CBD showed that it helped to reduce inflammation and improve lung function in mice with damaged lungs opening possibility to treat a number of respiratory health conditions.

Reproductive System - Endocannabinoid receptors have been found in sperm and the female reproductive tract. Because of this, it's thought that they can improve a sperm's ability to fertilize an egg, boost ovarian function and follicle maturation. In short, CBD may be a natural way to boost fertility with minimal negative side effects.

Skeletal System - CBD was found to enhance fracture healing and stimulate Lysyl Hydroxylase (a highly abundant enzyme involved in bone healing) activity in osteoblasts (bone building cells). Additionally the anti-inflammatory properties were shown to improve joint health and reduce pain in people suffering with health conditions where inflammation is present.

Urinary System – There does not seem to be many benefits here, but any disorders that cause inflammation can have the symptoms reduced.

Overview

Inflammation – CBD can be useful to reduce unpleasant symptoms in any health conditions where inflammation plays a large role.

Oxidization – CBD has strong anti-oxidant properties by protecting lipids and proteins against oxidative damage by modulating the level of oxidative stress, which participates in cell signaling pathways.
