Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a serious disease affecting the optic nerve.  Over time, the fluid in the eye begins to flow too slowly or stops flowing completely, the pressure inside the eye grows and blood vessels that feed the retina and optic nerve are damaged, causing vision loss and blindness.  Higher risk groups include those over 65 and people with Diabetes.  It is often not discovered until the condition is fully progressed as there are no early symptoms or effects on vision.   There are many possible causes for Glaucoma, but there is some evidence that stress, poor nutrition and a collagen deficiency can be factors.

Natural remedies can be used alongside medical care and may slow the development / prevent the disease and we prioritise the following remedies.

Germanium increases available oxygen to the eyes and helps to clear congestion, build the dose as per instructions. Organic Germanium is contained in most medicinal herbs & food, in fact the therapeutic power of such herbs may be largely related to the amount of Germanium present. Dr Kazuhiko Asai PhD, (deceased), dedicated himself entirely to the study of Germanium, his passion, commitment and sacrifice have had enormous impact upon many people’s lives.  Whilst it is a fairly long document, the book Miracle Cure – Organic Germanium is recommended reading. Quoting Dr Asai…

"I sometimes am reminded of the blind patients that often came to my office. There were diseases of the retinal blood vessels, such as glaucoma, black cataracts, detached retinas, inflammation of the retina and optic nerves, and without exaggeration, I can say that it was amazing how effective germanium had been. 1 often witnessed scenes where patients wept as they cried out, "Now I can see." Those who could not see would invariably say, ''If 1 could only see again, Doctor, I would give anything. If it were money I would even go into debt to pay for it. I cannot understand the psychology of people who know the joy of seeing, and yet do evil things and are greedy. There can be no greater happiness in the world than being able to see. . .: During the International Angiological Congress, I met a professor of ophthalmology at the State Medical College of Rio de Janeiro. He wrote that using the germanium compound on a patient virtually blind with amaurosis yielded amazingly good results, and that the patient was well on the road to recovery. It had already been verified that germanium rejuvenates retinal vessels, and is therefore effective in treating glaucoma and amaurosis. His letter has added new evidence of its efficacy”.

Jay Cohen, O.D., professor at the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City states "Studies show that high doses of Vitmain C help draw fluid out of the eye in some way,” he says. "I advise my patients to take supplements of between 1,000 and 2,000 milligrams a day, amounts that would be difficult to get in foods alone.  We recommend Sodium Ascorbate which is the preferred form of vitamin C at one gram twice daily.

Bioflavonoids can reduce the pain and pressure inside the eye and our completely natural herbal formula Circulate Capsules at two or three capsules twice daily will provide a good source of these bioflavonoids’ alternatively Propolis is a good source.

Serrapeptase can be used to relieve the congestion of the fluids in the eye take one (80,000 I.U.) capsule on rising and retiring.

MSM Organic Sulphur

This helps to soften tissues and allow for the correct permeation of fluid through tissues, this can be vital in the case of Glaucoma. MSM powder may be taken both orally and also diluted in water (approx one teaspoon MSM powder dissolved in a cup of water) and drops or eye bath applied to the eyes at least twice daily.

Finally, spinach or other green, leafy foods may help reduce your risk for the disease or slow progression, these contain lutein and zeaxanthin, two elements that protect cells from damaging effects of free radicals, and widely recognised as essential for eye health. Alternatively, Maxi Focus is a sublingual spray containing Lutein, Zeaxanthin, L-Lysine, Bilberry and Gingko. This is the best product for the delivery of these specific nutrients to the eye. Lutein and Zeaxanthin filter light and serve as potent free radical scavengers for the Retina. L-Lysine and Bilberry help maintain healthy blood vessels. Gingko improves blood flow to the blood vessels in the eye and improves the utilisation of glucose and oxygen, increasing ATP production and preventing vasoconstriction to the brain and retina (and improving memory).  Maxi Focus™ - Lutein Sublingual Spray has 800% more benefit than tablets or capsules. Can improve vision and prevent loss due to Macular Degeneration and other eye diseases.  Recommended dosage: 6-8 sprays per day for the first two months then 3 sprays per day for the next two months and lastly 1 spray per day as a preventative.

It is essential to drink plenty of water and take at least 5mls of Ionic Liquid Minerals and Trace Elements or Mag Sea Ionics for extra magnesium daily in the water. Vitamin A can help to keep healthy eyes and to improve night vision, the best source of this is Cod Liver Oil.
