Frequent colds are an indication of a weakened immune system, so we would recommend the following natural remedies.

Vitamin C is vital for the immune system and taking regularly will reduce the likelihood of experiencing colds, increasing the dose at the onset of a cold will help releive symptoms quickly.   Taking Vitamin C a as a food state supplement as opposed to a synthetic product is even more effective.  We recommend Acerola Cherry Extract - one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, higher than rose hips.   It is immune enhancing and helps the growth and repair of tissue.

By taking Propolis we can build up our resistance to infections, but even if we leave it until we become infected, Propolis is able to mitigate the worst effects.  There is probably not an area of health from which propolis' range of action can be excluded.   Much of the energy and stamina that may or may not be available to us is dependent on a healthy immune system.   In short, Propolis can be summed up as immune enhancing, protector and healer. Dr Remy Chavin reported: "No other antibiotic has this total result on bacteria". Propolis raises the body's natural resistance to infection by stimulating its own immune system.

Zinc is considered an essential trace mineral. It performs over 300 enzymatic functions in the body and plays a role in virtually all biochemical pathways and physiological processes. Every cell in the body needs zinc; hundreds of body processes rely upon it.  Zinc also has antioxidant properties.  Your body cannot store zinc but has a rapid turnover rate, which is why you need to keep supplies up.   Soil deficiencies have reduced zinc levels available in our food supply and some zinc is removed in food processing.  Zinc deficiency is extremely widespread. It’s symptoms of deficiency are numerous and often difficult to ascertain, however white spots on nails, stretch marks, poor sense of taste are strong indications of deficiency.

In Europe, the primary medicinal use of Liquorice is to treat coughs, colds, and other respiratory infections. Glycyrrhizinic acid seems to stop the growth of many bacteria and of viruses such as influenza A. It also stimulates the production of interferon. We find it particularly effective as part of a natural treatment for lung problems, and infections that affect the lungs, and as previously mentioned asthma and bronchitis. Chinese researchers agree that liquorice is effective against cough and soothes the inflamed tissues of a sore throat. In fact, ancient Chinese texts summarize the uses of liquorice rather well: "improve the tone of the 'middle Jiao' [digestive system] and replenish Qi, to remove 'heat' and toxic substance, to moisturize the lungs and arrest coughing, and to relieve spasms and pain." Modern practitioners use different terminology, but the therapeutic benefits are quite similar.
